Insect Stings

When a person is stung by an insect, such as a bee, wasp, or yellow jacket, a local or more severe systemic reaction may occur. These reactions can be life-threatening.

If you suspect that you are allergic to insects, testing is indicated. Skin testing and venom immunotherapy (allergy shots) to insect stings can be life saving. Injectable adrenaline may be necessary to carry at all times.
